Service Opportunities
St Vincent de Paul
Get involved with Vinnies by doing things like home visitations, Buddies Days, Kids Camps, visitation programs or tutoring refugee children. By volunteering, you can be sure you’re making a difference for those in need. For some Vinnies volunteers, this is a chance to give something back to the community, to use their skills and experience to make a difference in the lives of people who need assistance the most. For others, it is a chance to develop new skills and experience in a supportive environment. Blind Eye Ministries
Blind Eye Ministries is a grass-roots Catholic ministry devoted to journeying with the most vulnerable in our society. They achieve this one person at a time. Their current areas of focus are; Homeless, Indigenous and Pro-life issues. Visit the contact page on the website to get involved. Edmund Rice Camps
Edmund Rice Camps provide holiday experiences for young people aged 7 - 16 years who would not otherwise be able to enjoy them. There is a small cost for the young people to attend the camps. Many of the participants come from what could be considered as marginalised or disadvantaged backgrounds. See the website to get involved. Rosies
Friends on the Street is a not for profit organisation with a volunteer base of over 900 active volunteers across Queensland, who provide unconditional acceptance and friendship to people who are marginalised within our community – especially people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. In a spirit of friendship, we provide support and material aid in times of crisis. Rosies’ most visible outreach are street vans. They operate street vans which offer tea, coffee, Milo and a friendly ear. |
