Web Tools
There are many tools on the web that are useful for campus ministry. Here are some of my favorites:
- 1001 Free Fonts - this site is great for obtaining fresh and creative fonts to liven up presentations, use on posters, etc.
- Animoto - this wonderful site helps you to turn picture slideshows into stunning videos. Very easy to use, downloadable videos and it is free for educators.
- Block Posters - allows you to make large posters. Useful for decorating the prayer space or class room.
- Dove Family Approved Movie Reviews - Rates and reviews movies based on how appropriate the content is for young viewers.
- Muvizu - free 3D animation software. Useful for creating educational or promotional clips.
- Safe Share - allows you to watch YouTube clips without advertising or related videos appearing. It is excellent for the classroom to ensure that inappropriate images aren't shown.
- Tagxedo - allows you to create word clouds. Useful for brainstorming or listing attributes of a topic.
- Weebly - allows you to create a free website. This is what I used to create this site!
- Worship Backgrounds - Free backgrounds that you can download and use to liven up powerpoints during liturgies and prayer sessions.
Resource Databanks
- Catholic Link - A Catholic database of videos and resources with reflection points
- Dramatrix - a collection of free dramas written from Christians around the world
- Max7 - a worldwide open source resource library full of FREE Christian videos, powerpoints and programs for childrens, youth and young adult ministry
- Wing Clips - this site is full of short clips from movies that illustrate themes. It is useful for breaking open a theme and putting it into a relevant context.
Learning Tools
- Natural Reader - Free text to speech software. An easy-to-use software for people with reading difficulties or for proof reading.
