Prayer for World Teachers Day
Gracious God stay with us with your enabling Spirit,
guiding us as we lead our students towards your kingdom.
We accomplish in our lifetime only a fraction of the magnificent work of your creation.
We lay foundations that will need further development.
We plant seeds that one day will grow;
we water seeds already planted,
knowing that they hold future promise;
we provide yeast that produces effects far beyond our capabilities.
This is what we are about.
We cannot do everything and we feel liberated by this realization.
Our work may be incomplete but it is a beginning,
a step along the way,
an opportunity for your Grace to enter and do the rest.
Keep us faithful to your mandate
to love and serve others as your son Jesus has taught us.
Amen.

A Student's Prayer for Teachers
Giver of all wisdom and greatest of all teachers,
Look upon our teachers with love
Grant them the resolve to nurture our eager minds
and to never give up on us who fall behind.
Bless their hearts for they rejoice
when we succeed and encourage us when we fail
And bless them with gentle patience
for the path of learning is never easy
Kindle a spirit and passion in them
it is the flame that ignites the love of learning in us
Help them see the potential in each student
Their belief in us means much more than the grade we make
Instill in them a commitment to keep on learning
It shows us to not fear new knowledge and experiences
Inspire them to touch the future
They influence how big a dream we dream for ourselves
Bless our teachers who have come before
For their work endures to this day
Let the light of your example shine upon all teachers
To build up with their words
To love with their mind
To share with their heart.

Romans 12: 4-8
We have many parts in the one body, and all these parts have different functions. In the same way, though we are many, we are one body in union with Christ, and we are all joined to each other as different parts of one body. So we are to use our different gifts in accordance with the grace that God has given us. If our gift is to speak God's message, we should do it according to the faith that we have; if it is to serve, we should serve; if it is to teach, we should teach; if it is to encourage others, we should do so. Whoever shares with others should do it generously; whoever has authority should work hard; whoever shows kindness to others should do it cheerfully.
Ephesians 3:16-19
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge–that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
1 Peter 4: 10-11
Each one, as a good manager of God's different gifts, must use for the good of others the special gift he has received from God. Those who preach must preach God's messages; those who serve must serve with the strength that God gives them, so that in all things praise may be given to God through Jesus Christ, to whom belong glory and power forever and ever. Amen.

Prayers of the Faithful for Teachers
- For all parents, grandparents, educators and this Christian community, called to be teachers and models of the Christian life to all, by the example of their words and deeds. Lord hear us.
- We pray for our Catholic schools, that the administrators, teachers, staff, volunteers and community members would be blessed for their dedication, love and sacrifice for the students. Lord, hear us.
- We pray for our Catholic school students, that each one of them would know deep in their hearts that they are created in the divine image of God and are precious gifts to our schools. Lord hear us.
- We pray for all who care for us; the staff of our school, our parents, grandparents and our families. Lord hear us.
- We pray for our teachers; that they may continue to help us be thebestthatwecanbe.Let us pray to the Lord
